Giving Back Through Hearing the Call

Columbine Hearing Care is proud to give back to our community through our partnership with Hearing the Call, a non-profit organization committed to making hearing care accessible to those who need a hand UP, both globally and locally.

Dr. Jessen is driven by a passion for helping those in need of hearing care. She has participated in humanitarian hearing clinics in Guatemala, Jamaica, Brazil, and the Turks & Caicos Islands. The Columbine Hearing Care team also serves our local community through Hearing the Call – Colorado.

You can give back too!

As a patient of Columbine Hearing Care, you are helping us to help those in our community who cannot afford hearing care. Through our Columbine Shares program, we will donate $10 for every hearing aid purchased and $100 for every referred patient who chooses to pursue treatment with us. Thank you for supporting our cause and giving back to your Littleton and Denver Metro community.

Donations Are Welcome

We welcome donations of used hearing aids. Those can be dropped off at our clinic during working hours.

We are also so grateful for monetary donations that help us to pay for earmolds, supplies, and transportation for our recipients to attend our humanitarian clinics and follow up appointments. Donations can be made by clicking the button above.

More Give Back Efforts

Our owner, Dr. Dusty, has a heart for service that extends beyond the world of audiology.  When you choose to do business at Columbine Hearing Care, you are also helping to support several other amazing organizations that Dr. Dusty contributes to, both financially and by volunteering.  We’d like to share those with you here.

Dr. Dusty has been donating to this incredible organization for decades.  As a mother, she feels blessed every day to have two healthy children and cannot imagine the pain that parents and children experience when dealing with childhood cancer.  Our donations help the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff to provide premium care for these children and allow the families to stay near the hospital, without paying a dime.  CLICK HERE if you’d like to contribute.

This wonderful organization works to end hunger and poverty around the world by partnering with the communities they serve.  Families are equipped and trained to raise livestock, grow food, and ultimately build a business that gives them access to supply chains and markets.  They are able to earn a living, lift up their community, and train the next generation of leaders.  Dr. Dusty has proudly donated to this organization for many years.  CLICK HERE to learn more.

Freedom Service Dogs raises and trains service dogs for veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and other adults with various challenges such as PTSD, autism, and mobility challenges resulting from cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injuries, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.  Dr. Dusty started volunteering for this fabulous organization when her boys were young.  Dogs that are trained but “flunk out” (for medical or behavioral reasons) get adopted out and her family was lucky to adopt Golly who was an important member of their family for 9 special years.  Since then, she’s continued to provide financial support.  CLICK HERE to learn more or contribute to this great organization.

Friends of Man is a charity that uses 100% of it’s donations for charitable assistance.  They help applicants to pay for mobility equipment, prosthetics, home modifications, and medical devices, including hearing aids.  For nearly a decade, Dr. Dusty has been a professional advisor to this organization, reviewing all of the hearing aid requests and making professional recommendations about these cases.  CLICK HERE to learn more about this wonderful non-profit organization.

Cycling Without Age is a national non-profit organization that provides free “trishaw” rides to people who would otherwise not be able to enjoy a bike ride experience.  The Littleton chapter is extremely active and provides hundreds of “wind in the hair” experiences to riders every year.  Dr. Dusty is proud to volunteer her time doing graphic design work for this fabulous organization – from fliers to presentations, she is able to put her love for graphic design to good use.  She even gets to go on an occasional trishaw ride (Dr. Dusty is seen here with her late patient, John, who was also an incredible supporter of Cycling  Without Age Littleton).  CLICK HERE to learn more or to schedule a trishaw ride for you or a loved one!

Dr. Dusty has been fostering dogs since 2015.  Over the past decade, her family has welcomed more than 100 dogs into their home, giving them comfort, love, and a safe space to heal from their past traumas.  Paws on the Ground Colorado is an incredible foster organization that facilitates the rescue, rehabilitation, and re-homing of countless dogs that would otherwise be euthanized in over-flowing high-kill shelters in southern states where homeless and abandoned dogs are a huge problem.  Dr. Dusty is proud to volunteer for this wonderful organization.  If you’re looking to add a furry member to your family, please NEVER buy from a pet store, and consider rescuing a pup from any of the wonderful rescue groups that work tirelessly to help these poor animals.  Petfinder.com is a great place to start as they work with many rescues.  To learn more about Paws on the Ground Colorado, CLICK HERE.
